Symposium abstract
In the last decade, initial and continuing teacher training has established itself as a transformative pillar for education, enabling teachers to successfully face the demands of an ever-changing world. Currently, this training is oriented towards the comprehensive development of interpersonal skills, innovative competencies and dynamic skills, whose purpose is to enhance the personal and professional well-being
of teachers and, at the same time, create meaningful learning environments in the classroom. This symposium brings together a series of presentations that explore innovative and effective approaches to teacher professional development, with an emphasis on social-emotional competencies and pedagogical models that value individual student differences.
The studies presented analyze how emotional skills impact teachers’ subjective well-being and demonstrate the crucial role of emotional education in pre-service teachers. In addition, it is discussed how emotional regulation and collaborative work among teachers-especially through co-teaching contribute to the creation of a positive learning environment, benefiting both educators and students. Among the practical strategies, mindfulness techniques, which have been shown to be effective in improving emotional management, reducing stress and fostering resilience in the educational environment, will be presented. Overall, this symposium offers a comprehensive perspective on the internal and external tools that enable teachers to successfully manage in increasingly complex and challenging educational environments. Through these proposals, we seek to provide attendees with a practical and applicable framework that will enable them to build more effective, connected and emotionally intelligent teaching.
