Symposium abstract

Successful transition to higher education (HE) is associated with cognitive, social and emotional skills that help students overcome contextual and developmental challenges. Emotional intelligence (EI) plays a key role in academic success, social integration and well-being. However, while much research in psychology is conducted with university populations, little research focuses on how to develop the skills in university students that will enable them to enjoy greater well-being and provide them with the necessary tools for their future professional lives. This symposium aims to analyze and reflect on the pillars of coexistence for the improvement of emotional well-being and how to promote mental health in the university environment for the present and future performance of students and teachers.
